Take a break from driving this holiday

With wonderful transport links and things to do on your doorstep a holiday at Langcliffe Park is perfect for holiday makers wanting to have a rest from driving.

There’s lots of walks without having to do the Yorkshire 3 Peaks! You can walk along the picturesque banks of the River Ribble or over undulating Hills and through Dales in all directions from Langcliffe Park.

The Settle Loop is perfect to give you a real feel for the area with fabulous far stretching views of the magnificent Yorkshire Dales showcasing Malham Tarn and 3 Peaks.

Attermire Scar is a spectacular walk as is the Norber Erratics which includes some of the best erratic boulders in Britain. Oxenber Woods is a much more gentle affair but quite beautiful when the bluebells are out and you may also come across Scaleber Waterfalls and Catrigg Force on your days out.

You can walk to Malham and catch the bus back with a limited bus service running Monday to Saturday. (Bus Timetable) Catch the bus to Clapham with its own ‘wow factor’ waterfall and carry on to Ingleborough Cave, well worth a visit for all the family and then further on is Ingleborough offering a strenuous walk to the summit. Pretty villages such as Stainforth, Feizor and Austwick are all on circular walking routes and each has a special character of its own plus great cafes and pubs.

Take the Settle to Carlisle train all the way or jump off at any of its stations to do either a circular or linear walk and then catch the returning train. The station at Ribblehead Viaduct is a great starting point to climb Whernside or walk back to the station at Horton in Ribblesdale.

If you want to climb Pen-y-Ghent then alight at Horton in Ribblesdale and the hill stands proudly in front of you, it’s a challenging but worthwhile walk, just time it right to catch the train back. Settle, 1 mile away from Langcliffe Park, is a vibrant market town with just about everything you need but if you do want to venture further catch the regular bus service from Settle Market place to Skipton, known as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’.

A touring holiday in the Yorkshire Dales based at Langcliffe Park means you don’t have to spend a penny on petrol but just quite simply enjoying yourselves.
