Fancy a very scenic bike ride?

If you want to enjoy the Yorkshire Dales at its very best on quiet roads a bike tour could be the answer. A touring pitch at Langcliffe Park will mean you are withing easy walking distance of Settle and the 3 Peaks Cycle & Bike Shop and Cafe located in the historic market square.

There’s a selection of modern bikes for hire both electric and standard, although we do advise you book ahead to avoid disappointment either by calling or booking online and electric bikes can only be hired for a whole day. If you do get back before 3pm you can enjoy a complimentary coffee and cake sitting in the quirky cycle themed café or choose a sunny spot on the seats outside.

There are some lovely routes to choose from, here’s a few we’ve picked out:-

Settle to Clapham Circular (17 miles) – a gentle but spectacular circuit taking you through some of the best villages in the southern Dales.

The Settle Loop (10miles) – the route takes you on a variety of tracks with a steep climb out of Settle to be rewarded with some great views all the way round.

The Settle Long Loop (22 miles), an extension of the Settle Loop adding on Malham, past Gordale Scar, then a climb up Stockdale Lane followed by a long decent back to Settle.

Sustrans Settle to Clapham (4.5 miles) – a beautiful ride along the western edge of the Dales revealing views of Lancashire and the Forest of Bowland, the cycle back is equally as rewarding.

If you want a linear ride you can jump aboard the Settle to Carlisle Train with your bike and get off at any of the stops, cycle back or do a loop in that area.

We think you’ll enjoy cycling around here so much you’ll soon be investing in your own bike and 3 Peaks would be delighted to advise about the perfect one for you. You could be planning one of the long distance cycle routes one day. The Way of The Roses, Pennine Bridleway and Yorkshire Dales Cycleway all pass through Settle.

Give us a ring or book your pitch online today, now is the perfect time to set off on 2 wheels and explore fabulous unspoilt countryside.
